Equipment

  • In a tagine pot, brown the marinated beef.
  • Mixing bowls,Knife,Cutting board,Skillet
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours.
  • Pour in beef broth, bring to a simmer, then add dates.
  • Marinate beef with cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, pepper, and olive oil for 2 hours.
  • Add onions and garlic; sauté until softened.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs beef cubed
  • 1 cup dates pitted
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Marinate beef in a bowl with cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  • In a tagine pot, brown marinated beef over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until softened.
  • Pour in beef broth, bring to a simmer, then add pitted dates.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
